Injured Snowmobiler at Indian Creek

At 4:00pm on February 25th, we were called out to assist a snowmobiler who had sustained injuries while riding on the Indian Creek trail. Bonneville and Lincoln county Search and Rescue responded. The patient was returned to the trailhead around 8pm and was transferred to an ambulance for further medical assistance.

With all the recent snow, the avalanche danger is very high and we remind people to take caution when in the back country.

SAR members discuss stragety before heading outAt 6:30pm Bonneville County Search & Rescue was called out for a group of snowmobilers who were riding east of Pine Creek Pass. They triggered their SPOT satellite messenger device to request assistance. Teton County Search & Rescue also responded.

In 2012 the Idaho Falls Eagles Club hosted a fundraiser for us. With the money raised, we purchased a Snowbulance. Just a few weeks ago we were able to take it out on a training mission to Indian Creek. Check out some pictures of the fun we had. With a nice solid sled, a heater, and a seat for a medic, this Snowbulance will be a great asset to help move injured patients out of the back country quickly, safely and with as much comfort as possible.

And don't forget to support the Eagles fundraiser again this year.
