Evidence Search

At 2pm, we searched the Lewisville Highway to assist the Jefferson County Sheriff in locating a knife that was used in a stabbing. The knife has not yet been located, so if you find it please call Bonneville County Sheriff's Office at 529-1200.

7 New Members

On June 24th, Sheriff Wilde swore in 7 new members to the Search and Rescue team. We are glad to have them on board.

Snake River Drowning

Teams responded during the Idaho Falls fireworks celebration when a young man was reported to have gone into the river, but not come out. The Sheriff's Dive Team was mobilized and searched for about an hour, at which point the search shifted into a recovery mode and they suspended the search to allow the fireworks to continue. After the show, the dive team resumed their search and located the body just after 1am. We offer our sympathies to the family and friends in this tragic event.

July 4th 2013

This 4th of July we say "Thank You" to all those who have fought and died to protect our freedoms. We hope to see you out and about at all the celebrations tomorrow.

Firecracker 5K July 4th 2013

We're proud once again to be supporting the Firecracker 5K on July 4th. For all you crazy souls out there running early in the morning, be sure to wave and say "hi".

ATV Crash near Fall Creek road

Bonneville Search and Rescue responded to a report of an ATV crash near Fall Creek road. Early reports placed the subjects in multiple locations, but luckily the patients were quickly located and assisted by Bonneville Sheriff's deputies and the Search and Rescue team was called off.

Meeting Canceled - May 13th 2013

The regular meeting scheduled for May 13th 2013 has been canceled due to training last week. The next meeting will be on June 24th at 19:00.

Overdue snowmobilers at Pine Creek Pass

On March 2nd at 3:30am we were called out to locate some overdue snowmobilers. 11 searchers responded and searched for about 3 hours before finding a broken-down snowmobile. Searchers followed the tracks and were able to locate the riders. They returned to the trailhead around 8:30am.

Injured Snowmobiler at Indian Creek

At 4:00pm on February 25th, we were called out to assist a snowmobiler who had sustained injuries while riding on the Indian Creek trail. Bonneville and Lincoln county Search and Rescue responded. The patient was returned to the trailhead around 8pm and was transferred to an ambulance for further medical assistance.

With all the recent snow, the avalanche danger is very high and we remind people to take caution when in the back country.
